Invitation

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the local and scientific committees, we would like to invite you to the 7th International Conference on Brain Energy Metabolism. This will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland on August 15-18, 2006. The overall goal of this meeting is to bring together about 100 junior and senior scientists from the international community for a 3-day meeting to discuss neuron-glial interactions from the point of view of molecular, cellular, metabolic processes related to nutrition, signaling, imaging functional activities with different technical modalities, modeling physiological processes, and understanding diseases linked to energy metabolism. The program includes invited speakers, poster sessions, student/fellow presentations, interactive discussion sessions, and free time for informal discussions with colleagues.

Women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to participate in the Brain Energy Metabolism meeting. Any participants who have special needs are requested to make their requirements known to the organizers on the application materials as soon as possible so that every effort can be made to address these needs. In addition, scientists from any discipline who have an interest in the topics in the meeting program are also encouraged to attend so that the scientific discussions and interactions will be broadly inclusive of interests within, among, and outside of the topics of the meeting.

We  look forward to seeing you next August in Lausanne and thank you in advance for participating and contributing to the success of the event by presenting your scientific contributions.
